Some love stories begin with grand gestures, while others start with something much simpler. For Sophie and Harry, it all began on a night out when Sophie was 19 and Harry was 18. From that moment, they quickly became inseparable, spending almost every day together, discovering each other's favourite places and making memories along the way. Whether it was pancakes at Sophie's favourite restaurant or Harry introducing her to rock climbing, their relationship was built on adventure, laughter and finding joy in the little things.
Years later, Harry proposed during a peaceful walk through the forest. With no one else around, the intimate setting made the moment even more meaningful. After Sophie said yes, they finished their walk before returning to the car, where Harry had another surprise waiting—a beautiful bouquet of flowers. Following a long engagement, the couple enjoyed building their future together, purchasing their first home before finally saying "I do."
Planning Their Perfect Day
Like many brides, Sophie admits she had no idea where to begin when it came to planning her wedding.
"I'm not very good at making decisions, so I found the wedding planning quite stressful and overwhelming at times. Pinterest quickly became my best friend and helped me figure out the style and little details I wanted for the day."
The couple always knew they wanted an outdoor ceremony but, with unpredictable British weather in mind, finding a venue with both beautiful outdoor and indoor spaces was essential. After visiting five or six venues, they found everything they were looking for at Glen Lodge in Norwich.
Finding 'The One'
Unlike many brides, Sophie hadn't imagined her dream dress before beginning her search. Everything changed after visiting a wedding show.
"My dress was on display, and as soon as I saw it, I knew it was the one."
That dress was Zubah by Veni Infantino Bridal.
Although she was nervous that it might not suit her once she tried it on, those worries disappeared the moment she looked in the mirror.
"As soon as I saw myself in the mirror, I instantly cried. It was such an unexpected moment, but I knew it was the one."
Sophie found her dream gown at La Belle Angèle in Norwich, where the experience became every bit as magical as she'd hoped. Having watched Say Yes to the Dress for years, hearing the words "Are you saying yes to the dress?" became one of her favourite memories from the entire planning process.
To complete her bridal look, Sophie chose Zubah's matching veil, becoming the very first bride to order it, alongside a bespoke tiara created especially for her. She decided to wait until her wedding morning to see everything together for the first time.
"I truly couldn't have felt more like a princess."
A Fairytale Wedding Day
On 27th June 2026, Sophie and Harry celebrated their wedding surrounded by family and friends beneath glorious summer skies.
Although there was a brief rain shower, the couple embraced it as a sign of good luck. Moments later, the sun returned and a beautiful rainbow appeared across the evening sky.
"The whole wedding felt like a real fairy tale, and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat."
One detail that makes their love story even more special is that Sophie and Harry have been together since they first met as teenagers—they were each other's first loves, with Sophie being Harry's first girlfriend and Harry being Sophie's first boyfriend.
Sophie's Advice for Future Brides
Looking back, Sophie's biggest piece of advice is to focus on what truly matters.
"Enjoy every moment and don't get too caught up in all the little details. Looking back, so many of the things I worried about didn't really matter because the most important thing was marrying the person I love the most. The day goes by so quickly, so take time to step back, look around and take it all in. Someone once told me that the goal is to have a happy marriage, not just one perfect wedding day, and that really put everything into perspective."
